Advanced Technology Center (ATC) Engineering Technology II 'Procycler Team' representing the ATC has been selected as the winner of the Youth Achievement Project Virginia School of the Year for their Procycler Recycling Project. This honor is awarded annually to the top high school student project in each state across the United States. The following students from the ATC Engineering Technology II classroom are involved in this project: Clayton Hartwell, Aaron Auger, Jasa Ferraro, Justin Sarach and Austin Koontz. Dr. James Barger, is the ATC Engineering Technology II instructor.
The ATC Engineering Technology II students have developed a process that will allow all classrooms in the division using the Makerbot 3d printers to turn their used 3d printing plastic into new printing filament. As part of this project, the Office of Technical and Career Education (TCE) has purchased a Procycler 3d Printing Recycling machine to be housed in the Engineering Technology II classroom. This machine recycles the used plastic material by melting it and creating new printing filament suitable for use in the Engineering Technology classroom Makerbot [email protected] Virginia Beach Schools Federal Credit Union
